Framing Suspension (2021 - ongoing)
ABOUT
The suites of images for “Framing Suspension” were initiated within the course of development for the live-performance work entitled “Forms Of Restraint,” which focused on rope bondage and rig suspension alongside other forms of somatic practice. They are designed to exist as records of the choreographic and sculptural forms that were developed throughout as the performers worked in a flow state from tie to tie, image to image, as well as to trace the transmission of energies, responsibilities, sensations, and emotions that were shared between the top (or rigger) and the bottom (or model). Importantly, all of the featured performers know how to work with and within these forms of practice, and with the intimacies and energy passed on from body to body, subjectivity to subjectivity.
